This certification allows you to be able to plan dives to your existing depth qualification using any mix of Nitrox (enriched air) up to 40% o2 content.
The TDI Intro to Tech course introduces students to the world of technical diving courses.
This course is designed as an introductory course to the TDI Advanced Nitrox course and the TDI Decompression Procedures Course. It is the perfect course for those looking for formal twin tank training.
Course objectives are to familiarise students with technical equipment configurations, to enhance open water diving skills (such as buoyancy, trim, and situational awareness), and to introduce students to advanced gas planning techniques within a no-decompression context. Intro to Tech is strictly a no-decompression course; students are permitted to use enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes, provided the gas mix is within their current level of certification.
This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilise sidemounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration. This course can be combined with other TDI courses such as: Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, Trimix, Advanced Trimix and Advanced Wreck.
Sidemount diving has increased in popularity in recent years amongst recreational divers and technical divers. Many cave and wreck divers prefer this set up as its streamlined, versatile and enables them to navigate through restrictions that would otherwise be impossible to pass through.
The TDI Advanced Nitrox course can be taken alone as your entry level Technical Diver certification on twins or can be combined with entry level CCR training. However, it is most commonly taken in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures Course.
This course examines the use of EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 metres. The objective is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilising EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression. Intro to Tech may be combined with this course.
This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. It is designed as a stand-alone course but may be taken in conjunction with the TDI Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range.
The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres unless taught in conjunction with the TDI Extended Range Course. The most common equipment requirements, equipment set-up and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilise enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.
The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures course is regarded by many as the entry level technical diver certification and is the most popular of all courses. It combines two courses to give the benefit of being able to accelerate decompression using high o2 mixes. This course can be taken on twins or sidemount and allows you to be able to plan and conduct deco dives to a maximum depth of 45 metres.
This course provides training and experience required to competently utilise air for dives up to 55 metres that require staged decompression. Nitrox mixtures and/ or oxygen are utilised during decompression. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 metres. This course is regarded as an advanced level technical diver certification with plenty of rescue and self rescue skills using 4 tanks.
The TDI Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilise breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression. Nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures are used during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilising custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.
Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18 percent oxygen (O₂).This course is regarded as an advanced level technical diver certification with plenty of rescue and self rescue skills using 4 tanks, similar to the TDI Extended Range but without the narcosis.
The TDI Advanced Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilise breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilising nitrox and / or oxygen (O₂) mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 100 metres. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilising custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Advanced Trimix is one of the most challenging technical diving courses TDI has to offer, yet one of the most rewarding. Students are expected to have an instructor level skillset and mindset before enrolling.
